Sustainable Sourcing Initiative – 2012
The Agricultural Sustainability Institute at University of California’s Sustainability Sourcing Initiative focuses on creating a comprehensive database and metric that is USEFUL for companies looking to move their supply chains into the lowest- impact agriculture possible. The project includes many corporations (Mars, Bunge, Campbell’s, IBM among many others) and civil society organizations including farmer’s cooperatives, Environmental Defense, et al. Amy began this work as an advisor on business issues for the core team and was soon branded as “the Provocateur”… in a good way. Her role was to ask questions that helped the group translate complex scientific and biological issues into usable data and approaches.
